Whether you're heading to work, dropping kids off at school or driving to the airport, we want Limaburg to be a safe and reliable way to get you where you want to go. Thanks to a federal grant, we're looking at improvements from KY 18 to Youell Road and adjacent industrial parks.

The goals of this project are to:

• Improve safety for motorists and pedestrians
• Ease congestion
• Help move freight traffic more efficiently through the area

This project is currently in the early planning phase, but no designs have been selected or finalized. We need your input to better understand how you travel through the corridor and what improvements you want to see.

As part of the planning process, the project team will evaluate potential improvements, such as:

• A center turn lane to give drivers a safer place to make left turns and help prevent traffic from backing up behind turning vehicles. 
• A multi-use path or sidewalk to give pedestrians and cyclists a safer way to connect to surrounding neighborhoods and the Tower Loop Trail, a 14-mile multi-use path that connects much of the Hebron and Burlington area.
• Widening travel lanes to better accommodate freight traffic.
• Installing curb and gutters to improve draining. 
• Intersection improvements at busy sections to improve traffic flow and reduce the risk of collisions.
• Adding safe pedestrian crossings to improve connectivity and safety.
• Pavement rehabilitation in adjacent industrial parks.

What We Know - And What We Don't

The project area is Limaburg Road between KY 18 and Youell Road, including adjacent industrial parks. The federal grant funds planning and design of potential safety, traffic, pedestrian and bicycle improvements. 

However, the final roadway design, intersection improvements, exact location (and width) of pedestrian and bicycle facilities and potential impacts to individual properties have not been determined. Those decisions will be made as engineering progresses and with input from the community.
