Camp Ernst Road Improvements
Camp Ernst Road Improvements
Camp Ernst Road, from Pleasant Valley to Hathaway Road, is a busy road that carries over 8,000 vehicles every day. These include our neighbors heading home from work, teens driving to school, families heading to Central Park for a youth sports game and so many others. The current two lane highway poses safety issues and can be congested at times. Boone County has several projects planned to protect your safety and help get you where you want to go. Camp Ernst Improvements Overview
Boone County has several projects planned to improve the section of Camp Ernst Road from Pleasant Valley to Hathaway. Each project aims to:
- Improve safety of the traveling public.
- Ease congestion along the road and in the area.
- Minimize impact to property owners.
- Protect and preserve green space.
Currently, there are three projects - all in very different stages. These include:
- Reconstruction of the entire corridor (from Pleasant Valley to Hathway) that will improve safety and travel times. (Planning and design will begin this winter.)
- A new roundabout at Longbranch to improve safety and ease congestion. (Construction is expected to begin in spring.)
- Several safety improvements along the roadway. (Improvements will be made at different times throughout 2026.)
