Maher Road Improvements
Maher Road Improvements
Boone County Public Works crews and contractors will be working along Maher Road throughout September and October, making much needed repairs and improvements to the road. Work will include roadside stabilization and repair of three trouble spots, and a complete resurfacing of Maher Road from US 25 to the Kenton County line. Please expect delays while this important work is taking place. And, as always, please use caution around road crews and help us keep them safe.

Work along Maher Road will take place in three phases:
Phase 1: Road Stabilization
This phase will address three areas along the road where asphalt has cracked and begun to dip toward the shoulder. Work will primarily take place in the right of way (in the area next to the road), but will require a lane closure near work sites. Work is expected to start mid-September and finish in mid-October.
Phase 2: Road Repair
Once stabilization work is complete, crews will repair and replace the damaged layers of asphalt. Boone County Public Works crews will follow contractor crews as they complete stabilization. During this time, traffic will be down to one lane near the areas where crews are working. Road repair will finish in mid-late October.
Phase 3: Resurfacing
Maher Road (from US 25 to the Kenton County line) will be resurfaced. Damaged asphalt will be scraped off the road and then replaced with fresh asphalt. Crews will work on one side of the road at a time, which will create lane closures. Work is expected to begin late October-early November and will finish 1-2 weeks after start date, depending on weather and contractor availabilty.
This project will be kept up to date with timing and status. Learn more about each phase, and submit your questions or concerns about the project.
